1. Are assessments or interviews required for course application?
“Enrichment Program for Gifted Learner (EPGL)” and “Secondary Schools – HKUST Dual Program” do not require any assessments or interviews for application in this stage. The selection is mainly based on the student’s potential and ability in the related specific areas, school performance, commitments from activities and competitions.
2. How to pay for the program fee?
Payment of the program fee should be made by a crossed cheque payable to "The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology", and submitted together with your application to us before the application deadline. Please state the program name on the envelope. Cheque will be returned by post if the application is not successful.
3. Can the students request a refund after the application is accepted?
Payment will be processed once the application is accepted and, we do not accept any request for refund.
4. What will be the arrangements in case of bad weather?
  • All courses will be rescheduled or cancelled when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is in force or said to be in force within 2 hours before the courses start by the Hong Kong Observatory.
  • All courses will be resumed when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is cancelled or to be cancelled within 2 hours before the courses start by the Hong Kong Observatory.
  • If the Education Bureau announces that all school classes will be cancelled due to bad weather (e.g. typhoon, rainstorm, etc.) through radios or televisions, all courses will be postponed or cancelled.
  • Students should check the CDGT website for the latest arrangements. No further notification will be sent to students.
  • Students or their parents could decide whether the students should attend the courses or not by considering the current weather, traffic and the entire environmental conditions.
